3D ROUTE VIDEOS
Prepare a recorded run for a 3D route video
A route video depends on the route that was recorded. Start with the track and its gaps, then choose the presentation and overlay values.

Check the source route first
Open the activity and inspect the path from start to finish. Look for missing sections, jumps or an unexpected straight connection. A detailed visual presentation cannot supply positions that were never recorded, and a plausible camera movement does not validate the underlying track.
A manual activity with only distance and time is a different starting point from an outing with suitable route data. Confirm the required route exists before spending time configuring a video. If the map itself is wrong, investigate the recording before explaining the video.
Plan the export around its purpose
| Choice | What to decide |
|---|---|
| Destination | Where the video will be viewed and its intended orientation |
| Route | Whether the full recorded path is appropriate to show |
| Overlay | Which available metrics explain the outing |
| Playback | Whether the movement makes the route readable |
| Final check | The saved file plays and its labels remain legible |
For an illustrative long-loop story, distance, duration and a route-focused view may be enough. For a pace-analysis story, choose available relevant telemetry and keep the metric's meaning explicit. Extra fields are useful only when they help the viewer understand something.
Use Runome’s preview and export states
Runome's video studio provides a route-video workflow with playback controls and an Export video action. It distinguishes available metric selections, including Club-gated advanced values, from values that cannot be used. Review the preview, start the export and wait for a successful result before using the share action.
If export reports a failure, keep that state distinct from a completed file. Check the actual saved video rather than assuming the preview and final export are identical. Use the app’s Share Studio for this workflow.
Review what the route reveals
A route can disclose a starting location, finishing location and repeated places. Inspect those details in the exported file and use only the actual controls available in your workflow. Do not assume a privacy setting in another app automatically changes a video already saved to your photos.
For the underlying data, read what running files can contain. For clear labels, choose metrics by the story. A useful final check asks whether the video faithfully represents the available recording and shares only the detail you intended.
