Running pace calculator
Turn distance and time into a useful pace. Or work backwards from the pace you want to run.

Calculations happen in your browser. Your inputs are not uploaded or added to the URL.
Example result
10 km in 50:00
- min/mile
- 8:03
- Speed
- 12 km/h
- Distance
- 10 km
- Finish time
- 50:00
How it works
Pace is time divided by distance. Speed is distance divided by time. This calculator uses exactly 1 mile = 1.609344 kilometers and keeps full precision until the result is displayed.
Try this example
10 kilometers in 50 minutes is 5:00 min/km, about 8:03 min/mile, and 12 km/h. A 5:00 min/km pace over 21.0975 kilometers gives a half-marathon time of 1:45:29 after rounding.
Common questions
How do I convert pace from kilometers to miles?
Multiply seconds per kilometer by 1.609344. For example, 300 seconds per kilometer becomes about 483 seconds per mile, or 8:03 min/mile.
Can I use this for treadmill speed?
Yes. The result includes km/h and mph. It converts speed and pace; it does not adjust effort for treadmill incline or outdoor conditions.
Should I use moving time or elapsed time?
Use the time that matches your question. For a race finish target, use elapsed time. For a recorded run, check whether the source excludes pauses before comparing pace.
